Sinopec Occupies 65 Percent of Retail Market
BEIJING, January 15 - Sinopec opened 4,090 more service stations across the country in 2001, bringing its total up to 24,200.With 4,000 franchised service stations, Sinopec now occupies 65 percent of the retail market.
Sinopec's sales income was estimated at 360 billion yuan in 2001, tax payment, 47 billion yuan, and profit, 12.8 billion yuan.
To raise efficiency, Sinopec cut 18.2 percent of its employees in 2001.
